Topic Proposals

Please submit your proposals to until Thursday, 16th October 2025! It is possible to re-submit past topic proposals. In either case just send and e-mail to veronika.lassl(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)univie.ac.at with the proposal attached.

Every proposal should include:
– the topic
– a short text about it and why we should pick it
– questions that might be interesting to discuss
– at least 5 papers we could read (ideally from the last 5-10 years)*
– possible keynote speakers for the conference

* This indicates that your topic is something that philosophers are working on right now. That is exactly what we want. It’s difficulte to organize a graduate conference around a topic that not many (living) people are writing on.

Don’t feel like you have to be an expert on the topic to propose it – we are all here to learn. So please, if you are passionate about some topic and want it to become our main focus for the year, don’t hesitate to suggest it!

We will spend one session choosing the topic: Friday, October 17th 2025. During this session, the people that proposed the topic will present the topic and answer questions by the audience. After the presentations, forum members will pick the topic via an anonymous vote. Please make sure that there is at least one representative present for these sessions for every proposal.
